Task 1: Describe the different ratings given to video games and explain why it is important.
Game rating is different in every country. You can refer to here.
These are the different game ratings in Singapore as advised by IMDA.
1. Mature 18 (M18) –For persons 18 years old and above.
2. ADV16 (Advisory 16 – Suitable for persons 16 and above) –Suitable for persons 16 years old and above.
3. General- Suitable for person 15 years old and below.
These are important as these ratings allow people to select games that are suitable for their age group. Example, a General rating is suitable for gamers 15 and below.
Task 2: Create a personal schedule for gaming.
This is my weekly schedule:

I plan my schedule so that I play responsibly and don't play all day long. I only play during screen time or during family time as approved by my parents.
Task 3: Learn to play a new video game.
Game: Animal Crossing New Horizons (Nintendo Switch)
I learnt how to play this game during the 2020 end of year school holidays. The game is rated E (Everyone) based on the United States rating system this is equivalent to the General rating in Singapore.
The game requires you to gather resources to build up an island to attract other animals to live on the island with you. This game teaches the basic needs of life as the game shows that you need money to buy items and to make money, you must work like in reality. From this game, I also learnt how to plan space, designing, grow life necessities and save wisely. It is a fun game and I can play individually or with friends and family using the multiplayer function.
