Task 4: How books are organised in the library

Books are categorised into Fiction and Non-Fiction. Fiction books are organised according to the alphabetical order of the Author's last name. Non-Fiction books are categorised according to their category such as Animals, Machines, People or Travel. These categories are labeled by numbers such as 551.48 followed by the first three letters of the Author's last name. Books are also categorised into sections such as Adult, Children or New Arrivals.

These are the steps to search for Fiction or Non-Fiction books. Books can be searched at the library using the catalogue station or through https://search.nlb.gov.sg/.
