WSB : My Badges

Updated: Feb 2, 2022

Task 1 : World Scout Badge

The World Scout Badge signifies that one is part of the World Scout Movement. It is worn by scouts all over the world. During the investiture a new cub will be awarded the World Scout Badge.

This is the meaning of the emblem of the World Scout Badge

Task 2 : Caring for my Scarf

To care for my scarf I must keep it neat and tidy.

Area Badge

The Scouts troops are divided into 4 areas based on where the schools are located. The areas are North, South, East, West. My scout troop is in the North Area as my school is located in the North of Singapore. That's why I purchased a north area badge.

Every Area has 1 commissioner. The North Area commissioner is Mr Ang Wee Jin.

I hope to make more friends from other schools too when I start my scouting journey.

This is the North Area badge that would be on my uniform.

Task 3 : Progress Badges

The cub scout progress badge are the following

  1. Bronze Arrow

  2. Silver Arrow

  3. Gold Arrow

  4. Akela Award

The highest award in this section is the Akela Award, where a Cub Scout must hold the Gold Arrow and pass specific proficiency badges, show general knowledge of scouting and successfully complete an interview with the District Commissioner. I aspire to try my best to gain the Akela award.

Task 4 : Proficiency Badges examples:

There are many proficiency badges that we can choose to complete. The proficiency badges indicate that there are many different areas of interest that everyone is interested in.

I am attempting to complete the following proficiency badges, Cyclist, Astronomer. Book reader and Responsible Gamer.
